I'm the former co-owner of a little club in Huntington Beach. We were around from 1985 - 1986. Meatpuppets played there a number of times and I have just finished burning a show from 10/03/85 to CD. This was recorded on a Nakamichi Dragon. Made the recording myself. We flew two mics above the stage. I always preferred this style of recording as you could get a nice feel for the room. We used two Shure mics. I think they were model 70 something. And luckily, the band played REALLY LOUD!! The tape itself was in pretty good condition, considering it's age. I played it back to my computer using a Nakamichi 581Z that I bought on eBay. I've been working on this particular show for about a year and a half. Wasn't until I got the 581Z that I was happy enough with it to get it out to the public. Transferred to my computer using Cool Edit 2000. No messing with the equalization, just fixed some spots in track 4-7 where the bass dropped out a bit. And brought the left channel down a couple of DB as it was way, way loud. --Gil Fuhrer pedro's notes: From the CD that Gil gave me, I used EAC -> wav and then ripped .shn and mp3 files with mkwACT. mp3's encoded at 192kbps.
